Terms of Service

Last updated 19 October 2026Privacy PolicyGovernance

1. Agreement

These Terms govern your use of www.genrank.com, its API, and the rankings, scores and other data published there (together, the “Service”). The Service is operated by GenRank (“we”, “us”). By accessing the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. What GenRank is

GenRank is a read-only measurement index. On a fixed schedule we put a curated set of ranking questions to a panel of AI models and publish how often, and in what position, each brand is named in their answers. The Service has no public accounts, no user-generated content and no public question submission. How the index is produced is described in the Methodology; the rules we hold ourselves to are in the Governance Policy.

3. Using GenRank data

Published rankings, scores and API responses (“GenRank Data”) are made available free of charge for lookup, research, journalism, education and internal business analysis, on these conditions:

  • Attribution.Cite “GenRank (www.genrank.com)” together with the edition date and methodology version shown on the page or returned by the API. A ranking without its edition date is not a GenRank ranking.
  • No misrepresentation.Do not present altered, re-weighted, partial or out-of-date data as GenRank’s findings, and do not imply that GenRank endorses, certifies or recommends a brand. GenRank reports what AI models said when asked; it does not rate quality.
  • Bulk and commercial redistribution. Wholesale copying of the index, resale of GenRank Data, or embedding it in a paid product or service requires a written licence. Contact hello@genrank.com.
  • Programmatic access. The API is available by application only; see Data & API. Scraping the site, or any other automated bulk collection without a written agreement, is not permitted. We may throttle or block traffic that degrades the Service for others.

4. Independence and no advice

GenRank does not sell any service to a ranked entity that is intended to change that entity’s rank, and does not accept payment for inclusion, position or removal. Nothing on the Service is purchasing, investment, medical, legal or other professional advice. A GenRank ranking describes the output of AI systems at a point in time; it is not an assessment of the merit, safety or suitability of any brand, product or person.

5. Corrections

If you believe a brand is misidentified, duplicated, wrongly merged or attributed to the wrong category, write to hello@genrank.com. Corrections follow the process in the Governance Policy: we fix errors in how answers were read and re-run the published computation. We do not adjust scores on request, and we do not remove a brand from a ranking because it would prefer not to appear in it.

6. Accounts

The Service does not offer public accounts. Sign-in is reserved for GenRank staff and authorised operators, who are bound by our internal policies in addition to these Terms. Browsing and searching require no account; API access is granted by application.

7. Intellectual property

GenRank and the GenRank logo are trademarks of GenRank; registration is pending in multiple jurisdictions. The design, text and software of the Service are protected by copyright. GenRank Data is licensed, not sold, on the terms in Section 3. Excerpts of AI model answers are shown for transparency and remain subject to the respective providers’ terms.

8. Third-party AI services

The index measures the output of third-party AI systems. The models on the current panel are listed on every ranking page and in the Methodology. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any AI provider. Their outputs may be inaccurate, biased or change without notice; we report them, we do not vouch for them.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service and GenRank Data are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Figures for a single question are directional. Where confidence intervals are published they describe sampling uncertainty only, not the truth of what a model said.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GenRank is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from the use of or reliance on the Service. Our aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to USD 100.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes are noted in the changelog and the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Suspension of access

We may suspend or block access to the Service or the API, without notice, for violations of these Terms, including abusive automated access or misrepresentation of GenRank Data.
